Overview

Dubai Medical University partnered with Limina Studios to create a structured virtual campus experience that supports academic accreditation, institutional partnerships, internal educational use, and prospective student enrollment. The virtual campus provides a clear, navigable digital representation of the university’s academic and residential facilities, allowing stakeholders to explore the environment remotely in a consistent and professional format.

The Challenge

As a medical education institution, Dubai Medical University must present its facilities clearly and accurately for accreditation, academic review, and institutional collaboration. Coordinating physical site visits for accreditation bodies, academic partners, and international stakeholders can be time-consuming and difficult to scale.

In parallel, prospective students increasingly expect transparent access to campus facilities when considering enrollment. The challenge was to create a single digital solution that could meet formal academic requirements, support partnership discussions, and enhance the student decision-making process.

The Approach

Limina Studios worked closely with the university to design a purpose-built virtual campus for higher education. The approach prioritised clarity, structure, and ease of use—ensuring the experience could be navigated efficiently by accreditation reviewers, academic partners, faculty members, and prospective students.

A menu-driven virtual tour system was implemented, allowing users to move directly between key academic and residential spaces. This structure reflects how external reviewers and partners typically assess facilities, programmes, and infrastructure.

Limina Studios delivered an interactive virtual campus tour covering Dubai Medical University’s core environments, including: 

• Central Academic Facilities (primary teaching and administrative spaces).
• College of Medicine.
• College of Pharmacy.
• Student Accommodation.

Each environment is accessible through a clearly structured on-screen menu, enabling logical, efficient navigation across the campus. The virtual campus is accessible across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices, making it suitable for accreditation review, partnership presentations, student orientation, and enrollment-related use cases.
